Fingerstyle Guitar and Singing
Janie Phoenix creates captivating music with her finger-style guitar playing. Her performances feature harmonics, finger tapping, percussion and different tunings compared to Standard tuning, which is EADGBE. Janie has written an Acoustic Solo Guitar composition in the tuning C#EBEBE and it is one of her favourite tunings. These different and creative tunings bring a unique sound to her compositions. Janie's songwriting focuses on heartfelt, relatable and expressive songs.

Musical Achievements
Janie composed music for a songwriting competition called Play It Strange. Play It Strange is a competition for young adults attending High School. Janie performed and competed in Play It Strange under a different name. She changed her name to Janie Phoenix for a stage name and a fresh start. Janie, who was known as Ella back at High School, was a finalist 5 times and performed at venues. Janie gained experience with performing her compositions and covers. The live performances that Janie performed at were a Wedding, Garden Festival and at Britomart. These live performances will be great practise for when she tours around New Zealand, Australia and then the rest of the world,

What Emotions Janie aims to Evoke for Audience Members
Janie aims to evoke a range of emotions for when audience members listen to her music. Whether it's finding her music relatable or feeling joy when listening to her music. Janie hopes that her music will connect with people on a personal level, allowing them to feel whatever resonates with them at that moment. Music is healing and medication to help us through challenging times. Janie struggles with her mental health and her mental health struggles impact her everyday life. Janie would like to help her listeners with their mental health struggles. We must remember, we are not alone. We are never alone with music, and we are never alone with friends and family or pets surrounding us. There are people that are our friends, it 's just, we may not have met them yet. After all, it is Serendipitous.
